Obama Just Called Out Trump During John Lewis’ Eulogy And Got A Standing Ovation For It

This gave me chills.

Today, the country came together to honor and celebrate the life of Civil Rights icon John Lewis after he lost his battle with cancer.

The seats inside of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA were as packed as possible in the midst of the massive pandemic we’re still facing, and the space outside was filled to the brim with people from all across the nation who came to pay their respects and participate in the services for such an important life lost.

In attendance at the service were several key figures, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former United States Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, and a powerful letter from former President Jimmy Carter who was unable to be there in person.

Multiple people whose lives were forever touched by Mr. Lewis took to the pulpit to share their memories and heartfelt condolences.

But, in my humble opinion, nothing outshined President Barack Obama.

As Trump has spent his entire morning raging about mail-in votes on Twitter and attempting to put off the election to continue to torture this nation a little longer, Obama was taking to the stage at John Lewis’ service, and to say that the former — and last good and decent — president of this nation was fired up would be an understatement.

There’s no denying that John Lewis spent his entire life fighting against everything that Donald Trump now stands for. And Barack Obama was not about to let that congregation full of his loved ones and friends or this nation forget that.

“Today we witness with our own eyes police officers kneeling on the necks of Black Americans,” Obama fired from the pulpit. “George Wallace may be gone, but we can witness our federal government sending agents to use tear gas and batons against peaceful demonstrators.”

Obama went on to denounce Trump and his multiple, disgusting and dangerous tactics, as the crowd rose in a round of applause that sent chills through all of us.

Donald Trump may not give a damn about John Lewis and everything that he stood for and continues to stand for in the hearts of those who loved him. But Barack Obama is not about to allow his death to have been in vain.

We are done, Donald Trump. And we are coming for you.
