Barack Obama doesn’t usually respond to Trump’s nonsense. This time, he made an exception.
After Donald Trump posted a rant on Truth Social claiming Obama “manufactured” the Russia investigation, the former president broke his silence. The statement from Obama’s team calls the claims “bizarre,” “ridiculous,” and nothing more than a “weak attempt at distraction.”
Trump had accused Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and “numerous others” of creating the “Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX,” calling it the “crime of the century.” He promised “irrefutable EVIDENCE” and warned of a “major threat to our Country!!!”
Obama’s team replied calmly but firmly.

“Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response,” the statement begins. “But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one.”
The message was clear.
“These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction,” the statement continues.
Obama’s team also reminded the public of facts that Trump and his loyalists keep ignoring. “Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes.”
That conclusion wasn’t just from one source. It came from years of investigation, across different branches of government, under both Republican and Democratic leadership.
The statement even points to the 2020 Senate Intelligence Committee report, which backed those findings. That report was led by Republican Senator Marco Rubio — who now happens to be Trump’s Secretary of State.
Obama’s team responded because the facts are still the same. What changed is Trump’s need to distract people. He’s trying to shift attention as pressure builds around him.
His post wasn’t just about Russia. He went after Obama, Biden, Clinton, and anyone else he sees as a threat. That’s been his pattern for years — point fingers, repeat names, and hope people stop asking real questions.
This time, Obama chose to speak. And his words cut through the noise.
He didn’t attack anyone. He simply reminded the public that the truth is still there. The facts were confirmed. The reports were written. And even members of Trump’s own party stood by the results.
