Obama Speaks Out After Pro-Trump Super PAC Uses Doctored Audio Of Him In New MAGA Ad

This is absolutely disgusting behavior.

It’s undeniable at this point that Donald Trump is getting worried about his chances of reelection.

Trump and his band of supporters have clearly been vying for a Bernie Sanders nomination for some time now— their motives for such have yet to be confirmed, but their behaviors make as much crystal clear and there’s little doubt to be had that, for what reason, Donald feels confident that a Sanders nomination will secure him another four years in office.

However, Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s performance in South Carolina’s debate last night, which many Americans have declared as a win for the former Vice President who seemed to finally find his voice, in combination with that fact that the crucial state seems to be leaning towards a Biden victory, it appears as though the MAGA crowd feels that they stepped away from the attacks against Obama’s VP a bit prematurely.

In an attempt to regain their lost ground as Biden gathers steam they seemingly thought was all but kaput by now, one pro-Trump super PAC stooped to new a new low in an ad they debuted on the heels of last night’s Democratic debate — and they messed with the wrong dude in the process.

Currently making the rounds now is a TV ad from the Committee to Defend the President, in which they have disgustingly doctored audio from former president Barack Obama, weaponizing the footage against Biden to make it sound as though Obama is denouncing Democrats for selling out African Americans.

“Joe Biden promised to help our community,” the narrator states as the ad begins. “It was a lie — here’s Barack Obama.”

The 30-second ad then goes on to take the 44th president’s former words out of context in the background as white text appearing to reference Biden’s controversy surrounding Senate segregation and his support for the 1994 crime bill play across the screen.

The super PAC has constructed the ad to make it sound as though the former president is referencing those particular Biden offenses while criticizing him as someone who has stabbed the African American community in the back.

But, of course, Obama did no such thing towards his former VP and friend.

The audio stolen by the Committee to Defend the President was actually of Obama reading a passage from his 1995 memoir, Dreams Of My Father, in which a character from the work was speaking on the way black people were treated by Chicago politics during the time.

And Obama is having absolutely none of it.

Obama spokesperson Katie Hill released a statement in which Obama himself denounced the disgusting and blatantly misleading ad, labeling it as an effort to “sow division and confusion” and “suppress turnout among minority voters in South Carolina.”

In a full statement to the Washington Post, Hill said, “This despicable ad is straight out of the Republican disinformation playbook, and it’s clearly designed to suppress turnout among minority voters in South Carolina by taking President Obama’s voice out of context and twisting his words to mislead viewers. In the interest of truth in advertising, we are calling on TV stations to take this ad down and stop playing into the hands of bad actors who seek to sow division and confusion among the electorate.”

Frankly, someone should tell these folks that if they’re looking to pick and lie on someone — Barack Obama wasn’t a good choice.
