Oh look, we have another Christian nationalist in a high-level position who’s all worried about wokeness in the U.S. and is praying for Donald Trump and his “team” to “bring about change” in the U.S. This time the nutter in question is Oklahoma’s Superintendent of Schools Ryan Walters, who is ordering all teachers in the state to air a video in their classrooms that shows him praying for Donald Trump.
Walters has also requested that each school send a copy of his video to parents who have children in the state’s schools.
Here’s what he let loose with in the video:
“For too long in the country, we’ve seen the radical left attack individual religious liberty in our schools. We will not tolerate that in Oklahoma. We’ve also seen patriotism mocked and a hatred for this country pushed by woke teacher’s unions. We will not tolerate that.”

A hatred for this country being taught in this country? Patriotism being mocked? I think this dude’s eggs have been scrambled.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve heard too much about nationalist Christians and their concerns. Sometimes it seems to me like it’s all we ever hear from these people. Yet we’re supposed to be sympathetic when these people are doing their very best to persecute women, the LGBTQ community, and immigrants.
Now, this dude’s office is taxpayer-funded and apparently it wasn’t enough that he’s using the public school system as some sort of indoctrination camp to denounce teachers, and after this went into his little diatribe-prayer for Trump and encouraged students to follow suit and pray.
“Dear God, thank you for all the blessings you’ve given our country. I pray for our leaders to make the right decisions,” he said. “I pray in particular for Donald Trump and his team as they continue to bring about change to the country.”
Oh, I’m sure they will bring about change alright. I’m not sure how he’ll feel about unmitigated fascism becoming the norm, and maybe tanks rolling down the street (it could happen). He may have a change of heart when he sees that.
Walters seems determined to force this video on people, but Oklahoma’s two largest school districts are fighting back and have said they will refuse to comply with his demand because he has no legal authority to issue this and it’s unconstitutional. Of course, Walters is venting bile on this, posting to Twitter that people objecting to his orders are “mocking religious liberty” because that’s what these fools always yell whenever anyone voices an objection.
Welcome to the next four years of Donald Trump, U.S. President 2.0. We will quietly be stripped of our rights while these people will continue to complain about how their rights are being infringed upon. I guess all we can do is grit our teeth and get through it.
Here’s an excerpt of Walter’s nutty video below, accompanied by incisive rebuttal.
