Pam Bondi Speaks Out For The First Time After Getting Fired

Now she’s got takes

She pleaded for her job on Wednesday night. By Thursday afternoon, she was posting on X about how honored she was to have had it.

Bondi broke her silence hours after Trump confirmed the firing on Truth Social.

“Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history,” she wrote.

She kept going. “Since February 2025, we have secured the lowest murder rate in 125 years, secured first-ever terrorism convictions against members of Antifa, shattered domestic and transnational gangs across the country, taken custody of more than 90 key cartel figures, and won 24 favorable rulings at the Supreme Court.”

She said she will “remain eternally grateful” to Trump.

This is the same woman who, according to a senior administration source, begged Trump to keep her job the night before. “She was unhappy and tried to change his mind.”

She was still at the White House during his primetime Iran war speech. Earlier that day, she had traveled with him to the Supreme Court. By the time Trump took the podium, the decision had already been made. She flew home to Florida on Thursday.

So what changed?

The truth behind her exit is far messier than Trump’s farewell post suggests.

Trump grew “more and more frustrated” with Bondi over multiple failures, sources told NBC News. He does not think she “executed on his vision.”

Then there were the Epstein files. Bondi told Fox News in February 2025 that a client list was “sitting on my desk right now to review.” The Justice Department later said no such list existed. MAGA never got over it.

And even now, the story does not end here. Being fired does not get Bondi off the hook.

The House Oversight Committee subpoenaed her to testify about the Epstein files on April 14. Democrats made clear Thursday that the subpoena travels with her. “Pam Bondi may be fired, but she still must be held accountable,” Representative Shontel Brown posted on X.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called her tenure “the most corrupt Attorney General in modern American history.”
