Business Insider recently obtained and reported on an excerpt from The Washington Post’s Bob Woodward and Robert Costa book, Peril, that’s set to be released next week, and it seems as though former GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan was apparently just as concerned about Donald Trump being president as we were — and rightfully so.

According to the bombshell new book, Ryan actually spent “weeks” researching, reading up on, and even talking to doctors about how to deal with an individual with narcissistic personality disorder on the heels of Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential election win.

The book claims that Ryan was taken aback when Trump won the election over his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton and quickly took to researching how to deal with someone who is “amoral and transactional,” after he quickly realized that he’d be forced to work closely with the reality TV washup turned US President.

The tell-all goes on to reveal that Ryan was allegedly contacted by a wealthy NY doctor who doubled as a GOP donor who told him, “You need to understand what narcissistic personality disorder is.”

“What?” Ryan reportedly questioned, to which the doctor responded with an email detailing his “thoughts on how to best deal with a person with anti-social personality disorder,” according to the book.

The email from the wealthy NY doctor also allegedly included links on the subject from the likes of The New England Journal of Medicine, and information from the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th edition.

Woodward and Costa report that “Ryan studied them for weeks, convinced Trump had the personality disorder.”

As we’re all well aware by now, the relationship between Ryan and Trump during the final months of Ryan’s term as House Speaker was tense, at best, with things reportedly coming to a head after Ryan denounced the infamous, deadly Charlottesville riot in 2017.
