Donald Trump has found a new way to make the Oval Office shine. Literally. He is proudly telling the world that the room is now filled with 24 karat gold.
Trump called it a “24 karat gold revamp” of the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room. He said foreign leaders “freak out” when they see it and claimed it is the “best Oval Office ever in terms of success and look.”
On his Truth Social account, Trump bragged,
The makeover includes gold trimmings on the fireplace and walls, gold figurines on the mantel, gold eagles on side tables, and even gold coasters with his name on them. A Florida cabinetmaker known as Trump’s “gold guy” reportedly flew in on Air Force One to bring Trump’s Mar a Lago style to Washington.

But the shine quickly lost its magic online. Many people said Trump should be focused on fixing the economy, tackling the national debt, and helping families who are barely getting by.
They pointed out that grocery and gas prices keep climbing and farmers are struggling, yet the president is busy bragging about gold trim in the Oval Office.
Some called the spending wasteful and said it shows how out of touch he is. A few even went so far as to call him the worst Oval Office occupant in history.

When they say “wasteful spending” they mean spending on Democratic priorities like healthcare, safety net for the poor and underprivileged, gun violence prevention, etc.
