Karoline Leavitt may have just exposed a problem inside Trump’s own team. And it happened because of one simple music post.
This week, people everywhere shared their Spotify Wrapped results. The app shows your top artists of the year. It is usually a fun moment. But for Karoline, it turned into something much bigger.
She shared her list with her millions of Instagram followers. At first, it looked normal. Then people noticed one name. And everything suddenly changed.
Her top artists were Morgan Wallen, Forrest Frank, Brandon Lake, Anne Wilson, and Taylor Swift.
This is where many people paused. They know the long history between Taylor Swift and Donald Trump. They know Trump has attacked her again and again. They also know he cannot stand her political choices. So seeing his own press secretary proudly listening to Taylor felt surprising.

And it is not without reason. Taylor has supported Democrats for years. She backed Joe Biden in the past and used her platform to speak against Trump’s behavior. Trump reacted badly every single time.
During the 2024 election season, he posted an angry message on Truth Social, writing:
“I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other Musical Artists.”
He continued:
“Joe Biden did not do anything for Taylor, and never will. There is no way she could endorse Crooked Joe Biden, the worst and most corrupt President in the History of our Country, and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money.”
And then he added:
“Besides that, I like her boyfriend, Travis, even though he may be a Liberal, and probably cannot stand me”
The situation only got stranger. Trump later shared fake AI images of Taylor online. One image showed people wearing “Swifties for Trump” shirts with a fake headline claiming ISIS had “foiled” a Taylor Swift concert. Another fake picture showed Taylor in a top hat with the words:
“Taylor Wants You to Vote For Donald Trump.”
Trump responded to that fake image by writing:
“I accept”
Taylor then endorsed Kamala Harris. Trump immediately exploded on Truth Social with an all caps message:
“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT”
This is the level of anger he has toward her.
So when Karoline posted her top artists and Taylor Swift was sitting proudly at number five, people knew it was not an innocent moment. It looked like a message, or a slip, or maybe just honesty that Trump would not like.
This also comes during a tough moment for Karoline. She recently talked about her stressful job and said:
“Honestly, I have PTSD about making plans, so I just do not.”
She explained how her schedule constantly changes. She revealed she and her husband tried planning vacations, but:
“All three got canceled due to foreign policy events.”
She also said:
“We just roll with it. If there is a night where I happen to become free, then we take full advantage of that as a family.”
Karoline is the youngest press secretary in US history. Her job is powerful. Every word she posts is seen. Every choice is judged. So her Spotify Wrapped was never going to stay quiet, not when her list includes the one artist Trump openly hates more than anyone.
