Washington has been buzzing since Karoline Leavitt announced her resignation, and the question on everyone’s lips is the same: who takes that podium next?
Over the weekend, a video posted to X may have handed the internet an answer, or at least its favorite theory so far. Alina Habba was spotted at Trump’s Bedminster golf resort on Sunday, sitting close to the president at what appeared to be a dinner event, giving the growing Habba buzz something new to chew on.

Probably seeking the person that gives him the best deal.
He sells pardons so why wouldn’t he sell the job, or at least get something he wants out of it from someone.

Habba has already emerged as the early frontrunner to replace Leavitt, according to sources inside and close to the administration. Her connection to Bedminster goes back even further, since she first met Trump there after joining the club in 2019, when it was an eight minute drive from her law firm.
That relationship eventually brought her onto Trump’s legal team in 2021. She represented him during the hush money trial that ended with his conviction on 34 felony counts and later served as his presidential counselor when he returned to the White House.
Habba picked up another Trump connection when she briefly served as interim U.S. attorney for New Jersey, a position that ended in December after a court battle over her eligibility. Trump had described her as “unwavering in her loyalty” and “a tireless advocate for justice” when announcing the appointment.
