To be frank, we’ve come to know and expect that Donald Trump’s public speaking events — whether it’s a speech at some Republican affair or another, or one of his increasingly insane MAGA-turned-Save-America rallies — are all but guaranteed to be completely unhinged. It seems the more trouble the man sinks into, the more erratic and downright crazy he becomes.
It’s gotten to a point that most of his blunders and off-the-wall claims aren’t even given a second thought anymore. It takes quite a lot these days, it seems, to even make most people bat an eye at the nonsense that pours out of that man’s mouth.
But every once in a while, he still manages to come off with something so unbelievably insane that we’re left wondering and questioning, “Why isn’t this man in a nursing home?!”
Trump’s weekend rally in Nevada was a prime example of such.
As we’re all well aware now, the scandal-ridden former president’s legal peril hit quite the crescendo this year, after FBI agents raided his Mar-a-Lago resort on a search and seizure warrant handed down by the DOJ and signed off on by Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland himself. The American people soon came to learn that the ex-president was under investigation by the US Department of Justice for possible violations of numerous laws and regulations — including but not limited to the Presidential Records Act and the Espionage Act — as a result of his decision to quite literally steal highly-classified government documents from the White House during his final days in office and hide them away at his unsecured Palm Beach estate, where he then proceeded to lie about his possession of said materials to the National Archives and Records Administration on so many occasions, that the search and seizure warrant was the only option left to recover the top-secret documents.

This investigation has, of course, sent Trump into a mental tailspin for the ages. His response has been a hodgepodge of various excuses for why he took the documents, unhinged claims about the FBI planting the documents, outlandish assertions about his supposed declassification of the documents, and a whole heaping helping of projection when he has nothing left to fall back on — leaving the nutcase to essentially claim that yea, he took the documents, but so did everyone else before him.
That’s essentially the exact route he attempted to take during this weekend’s Save America rally when he turned his attention to none other than late former President George H.W. Bush and proceeded to go on one of his most mentally unstable rants to date — including the former Republican president, a bowling alley, and a Chinese restaurant.
“George H.W. Bush took millions of documents to a former bowling alley and a former Chinese restaurant where they combined them,” Trump told his supporters during the rally Saturday night. “So they’re in a bowling alley-slash-Chinese restaurant.”

CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale was quick to get his claws into Trump’s off-the-wall declaration and let the whole world know that is, in fact, not even close to what happened:
This is a dishonest claim. The truth: *the National Archives* sorted Bush docs for his library in a heavily secured facility (patrols, cameras, sensors) that happened to be a former alley/restaurant. As with Obama docs the Archives took to Chicago, Bush didn’t take them himself. https://t.co/1H0YsuRebu

Meanwhile, the rest of social media couldn’t help but wonder if Donald Trump has finally just completely cracked:
And these ghouls claim Joe is the one with dementia.

I like how the GOP is focused on Biden’s gaffes, as if Biden is/was the only one making them, but my impression is that Trump did/does a heck of a lot more.
An opportunity for someone to do a comparison… I would wager that Trump has made a lot less sense. 🤪

This really can’t get any dumber. I mean, I guess he can tell us about that time John Tyler was visited by space aliens or something. Wait, he probably doesn’t even know who John Tyler was.

These are not even lies. They are fantasy figments of his imagination. Even a lie should be at least within the realms of possibility.

Seriously, this stopped being funny about 5 years ago. Someone take his keys already.
