White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has a 10-month-old baby son, and on Thursday, a fellow White House communications staffer posted a photo of Leavitt working at her desk while feeding her son from a bottle.

Margo Martin’s official X account posted the photo. Martin is a Special Assistant to the President and Communications Advisor in the White House. The caption read, “Walked in to  @PressSec typing with one hand and feeding her son with the other. Super Mom!”

Both parties have had numerous staffers with small children while working in the White House. But the picture set off some complex reactions about women in the workplace, especially at a time when a growing strain of right-wing thought seems opposed to the idea of women having jobs outside the home at all.

Some also noted that Congress recently cracked down on proxy voting, meaning that Rep. Brittany Pettersen (D-CO) recently had to bring her newborn son with her to cast a crucial vote on the House floor.

“Unfortunately, I wasn’t given the opportunity to vote remotely after giving birth, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me from representing my constituents,” Petterson said at the time.
