In a holiday-themed video released Monday, Mary Trump, the outspoken niece of Donald Trump, offered a peek into the peculiar holiday traditions of the Trump family. Reflecting on her past, she revealed what she calls the “worst” gifts she ever received from her uncle, now President-elect Donald Trump.

The video, titled “Trump Family Christmas Chaos,” dives into Mary Trump’s childhood holiday memories, painting a vivid picture of the Trump family’s idiosyncratic gift-giving habits.

Gifts That Raised Eyebrows

Mary Trump recalled that before Donald Trump’s marriage to Ivana Trump in the late 1970s, his gift-giving efforts were forgettable at best. However, once Ivana entered the picture, the presents became memorably odd.

One year, Mary Trump received a single shoe stuffed with hard candy wrapped in cellophane, which she suspected was a regifted party favor from one of Ivana’s social events. Her brother, meanwhile, unwrapped a leather-bound calendar that was two years out of date.

In the video, Mary jokingly described the moment as the beginning of a sibling rivalry over who could claim the “worst” gift from their famous uncle.

“And then, in 1977,” she continued, “I opened my very first present from Donald and Ivana. It was a box of underwear. A three-pack, retailing for $12 from Bloomingdale’s. It was an exciting moment, and it just got weirder from there.”

A Pattern of Criticism

Mary Trump has been one of Donald Trump’s most vocal critics, frequently using social media and public appearances to highlight her concerns about his behavior and leadership. Recently, she lamented that the country is “doomed” after a defamation lawsuit between Donald Trump and ABC News was settled in his favor.

This latest anecdote adds another layer to her critiques of the Trump family dynamics, which she has described as dysfunctional and chaotic.

What’s Next for Donald Trump

Donald Trump is set to return to the White House for his second term after winning the 2024 presidential election. President Joe Biden has promised a smooth and peaceful transition as he prepares to hand over power.

Mary Trump’s holiday revelations may not rattle the President-elect. Still, they continue to offer a glimpse into the less glamorous, more bizarre side of the Trump legacy—one that has captivated and baffled observers equally.
