A lot of headlines about Joe Biden from six months ago, which led him to abandon his re-election bid, are starting to resemble headlines about Donald Trump today.
Trump, who if elected to another term would overtake Biden as the oldest president in history, has been canceling and turning down interviews in the campaign’s final weeks, The Daily Beast reported Friday, citing Politico.
Trump had been negotiating to appear on The Shade Room, a podcast popular with Black audiences, but ultimately his advisers did not proceed with it, with an advisor telling the show’s producers that Trump was “exhausted and refusing interviews, but that could change.”
Kamala Harris appeared on The Shade Room last week. Trump press secretary Karoline Leavitt, however, denied the report.

Trump has canceled interviews in recent weeks, including with 60 Minutes, and in other instances has let talks about interviews drag out before ultimately backing out.

When Trump has appeared for interviews, such as on Fox and Friends Friday morning, he has committed gaffes, like admitting on live television that he was on his way to meet with the network’s boss, Rupert Murdoch, to lean on him about negative commercials and certain Trump-critical guests.

The New York Times, on Friday, ran a piece that was shockingly similar to many of the reports about Joe Biden that ran in the weeks before he dropped out of the race earlier this year. “Trump’s Rambling Speeches Focus His Critics and Worry His Allies,” the story said.
“Some advisers and allies of former President Donald J. Trump are concerned about his scattershot style on the campaign trail as he continues to veer off script,” the Times said. That story also mentioned the bizarre event in Pennsylvania, which Trump cut short after about 30 minutes in order to dance and sway on stage.
