Pulmonologist Reveals What He Thinks “Anxious And Scared” Greg Abbott Did After Testing Positive For Virus

My, how the tables have turned.

Earlier this week, Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott got a taste of his own metaphorical medicine when he tested positive for the coronavirus (we’re assuming with the highly contagious Delta variant, as Abbott was, surprisingly enough, fully vaccinated) just hours after attending a very large, mostly maskless public event.

Of course, Abbott’s positive test came right in the midst of his executive order that essentially bans his constituents from protecting themselves from the very virus he’s currently infected with by disallowing mask mandates in the southern state as the Delta variant runs rampant.

Now one ICU doctor and NBC News analyst is making quite the example out of Governor Abbott and telling his constituents to “take note” of what the GOP state leader did upon finding out he was infected.

Dr. Vin Gupta, a pulmonologist, took to his Twitter to point out that Abbott has fought tooth and nail against guidelines and restrictions meant to protect the American people against this deadly pandemic, including banning mandates for masks and vaccines, yet reportedly rushed to get top-of-the-line treatment for his infection despite being fully vaccinated and allegedly symptom-free.

According to reports, Abbott is being treated with Regeneron’s monoclonal antibody treatment.

“Quickly getting access to monoclonal antibody therapy when you’re the fully vaccinated, asymptomatic Governor of Texas shows just how anxious and scared @GregAbbott_TX actually is of a virus that he constantly downplays,” Gupta wrote on Twitter. “Hope Texans take note.”

In the last handful of weeks, COVID-19 cases in Abbott’s state have positively skyrocketed — going from around  1,000 daily cases reported back in early July to a staggering 20,000 cases reported on Monday alone. Yet, in spite of those horrifying numbers, just a mere 45 percent of the state of Texas is fully vaccinated.

In addition to the Regeneron treatment, Abbott has also reportedly told his friends that he has received a third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine — the very same one he refuses to allow people to mandate in his state.
