The punches keep coming for Donald Trump from pretty much every conceivable angle at this point.

As the January 6th House Select Committee’s investigation continues to mount, it seems New York Attorney General Letitia James is making damn sure that the washed-up, one-term, twice-impeached former guy doesn’t forget about her.

According to new reporting from ABC News, a new ruling from New York Judge Arthur Engoron has officially held the Cushman & Wakefield real estate firm (that’s closely tied to the former president’s investigation-ridden family company, the Trump Organization) in contempt of court over the firm’s refusal to comply or cooperate with subpoenas issued against them in connection to the firm’s various business dealings with Donald Trump’s company.

ABC News reports that the subpoenas had previously been issued against the Cushman & Wakefield real estate firm as “part of its civil investigation into how former President Donald Trump and his family business valued their holdings.” Evidence has indicated that the real estate firm has been deeply involved in providing real estate services for the Trump Organization for many years. These services include but are not limited to “appraisals and brokerage services” for multiple Trump-company-owned properties that are now embroiled in the NY AG’s investigation into whether the Trump Organization falsely represented its assets and income in an effort to receive more favorable bank loans versus tax breaks.

In his decision, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Cushman & Wakefield will face a steep fine of $10,000 per day, for every day that they continue to refuse cooperation with the subpoenas.

New York Attorney General Letitia James has personally issued a statement on Judge Engoron’s ruling, making special note of the importance of accountability and the fact that “no one is above the law.”

AG James said in her statement:

Cushman & Wakefield’s work for Donald Trump and the Trump Organization is clearly relevant to our investigation, and we’re pleased that the court has recognized that and taken action to force Cushman to comply with our subpoenas. No person or company, no matter how powerful, is above the law.”

A spokesperson for the Trump-connected real estate firm has also spoken out in the wake of the brutal ruling and confirmed that they plan to appeal the decision.

“The ruling to hold Cushman & Wakefield in contempt demonstrates a failure to understand the extreme lengths Cushman has gone to comply with the Court’s order,” the Cushman & Wakefield spokesperson said in a statement. “We have gone to great expense and effort to quickly identify, collect, review and produce the massive set of documents requested by the OAG, and we have now produced over hundreds of thousands of pages of documents and over 650 appraisals since the last subpoena was issued in February 2022.”

“Cushman disagrees with any suggestion that the firm has not exercised diligence and good faith in complying with the Court’s order, and we will be appealing this decision.”

Judge Engoron’s contempt of court ruling came months after Letitia James filed a motion with the intent of forcing the real estate firm to comply with the subpoenas issued by her office.
