I truly believe that about half of this country has reached a level of depravity that is past the point of return.
California Democratic House Rep. Eric Swalwell publicized an audio clip containing brutally violent death threats he says he recently received against himself and his family from a man who called for their decapitation as he shouted “Trump 2024!”
Rep. Swalwell, a married father of three young children, former Democratic presidential candidate, and co-chair of the House Democratic Steering Committee, is no stranger to these unhinged threats and harassment from the Right.
In the disturbing audio clip posted by the lawmaker, an apparently male voice can be heard fuming, “I want to say, not me, but I hope someone cuts [his] throat from ear to ear. Cut his wife’s head off, cut his kids’ head off.”

“You still banging the Chinese spy Fang Fang?” the unhinged individual continues to rage in the clip. “We’re coming to your house this weekend. Gon’ get you and them little mutant bastards, them little mutant offspring of yours. We’re gon’ get ya.”
The man goes on to reference President Joe Biden as well as Vice President Kamala Harris while using a series of absolutely nauseating racial slurs. He also goes on to take aim at the Black Lives Matters movement, as well as immigrants to the US, and members of the Democratic party as a whole.
He also fires off against the state of California and its Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
The audio clip ends with repeated chants of “Trump 2024!”
The audio clip released by Swalwell is a staggering almost two minutes long and appears to have been edited at least slightly, with the beginning of the clip appearing to be cut off.
Swalwell took to Twitter where he posted the disturbing audio clip, writing, “Listen to this death threat against my children. Since the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, Trump, McCarthy, and MAGA Republicans are stoking violent rhetoric against lawmakers and law enforcement. Someone is going to get killed.”
