In yet another shocking development, Nassau County Police have responded to a ‘suspicious occurrence’ near former President Donald Trump’s rally site in Long Island. This comes just days after an assassination attempt at his Florida golf club, marking the second attack on Trump in recent months. While Trump’s supporters may rally behind him, these security incidents raise serious questions about his role in stoking violence and the dangers surrounding his leadership.
Trump’s political career has been anything but calm, with a history of controversy, divisiveness, and security threats. The discovery of a suspicious vehicle near the rally site has added to the already intense security concerns. According to sources in the Nassau County Police Department, a vehicle was flagged as suspicious near the rally perimeter. While initial reports suggested the presence of explosives, a public information officer confirmed,
“We did respond to a suspicious occurrence in the vicinity of the Nassau Coliseum, however there was no validity of an explosive device being found.” The officer added, “We’re unsure where this information originated, but we can confirm that no explosives were discovered.”
This occurred as thousands of Trump supporters were gathering for his evening rally. Trump has faced increasing threats as he continues to hold rallies in his bid to return to the White House. Just three days ago, a gunman attempted to assassinate him at his West Palm Beach golf club. The would-be assassin was caught carrying a rifle and a GoPro camera, ready to record his attempt. Thankfully, Secret Service agents responded quickly, and Trump was whisked away to safety.
The former president himself survived a similar attack in July, when a man shot him in the ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. These incidents illustrate the violent atmosphere that often surrounds Trump’s public appearances. What’s even more concerning is Trump’s reaction to these attacks. Instead of calling for calm or unity, Trump has repeatedly blamed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for inspiring violence against him. He claims that their rhetoric is responsible for stirring up anger among his opponents, though he conveniently ignores his own role in creating an environment ripe for violence.

Throughout his presidency and beyond, Trump has used inflammatory language to rile up his base and demonize his critics. His constant attacks on the media, Democrats, and anyone who disagrees with him have only deepened divisions in the country. This type of language has dangerous consequences. When political leaders use violent or aggressive language, it can embolden extremists and push them toward violent actions. This isn’t just speculation — we’ve seen it before.
During Trump’s presidency, right-wing extremism surged, and the FBI warned of increasing threats from domestic terrorism. In 2020, the Department of Homeland Security identified white supremacist violence as the “most persistent and lethal threat” in the United States. Trump’s rhetoric has often played into the hands of these extremists, further escalating tensions.
Even now, in the face of direct threats to his own life, Trump continues to push a narrative of victimhood and blame. Instead of working to de-escalate tensions, he fuels them. His rallies often feature violent rhetoric, with supporters chanting for imprisonment or violence against his political opponents. The fact that he has now faced two assassination attempts in just a few months is not something to be celebrated by anyone — it’s a warning sign. This level of violence and extremism shouldn’t be normal in American politics.
