Republican Governor Rips Trump For Being A Failed Leader During A Crisis

He did NOT hold back.

Donald Trump has a lot of support from Republicans as he threatens to use the military against American citizens, but Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker is not one of them.

During a conference call with several governors about the mass protests across the country, Trump accused them of being “weak,” even after he spent the night in the White House bunker and turned off all the lights because he was so terrified of peaceful protesters. Trump also demanded the governors call in the military to “dominate” and put down the protests.

Not only were Democratic governors not impressed, but Baker also was not impressed either and addressed Trump’s rant at the end of a press conference.

“On a final note, I heard what the president said today about ‘dominating’ and ‘fighting’. I know I should be surprised when I hear incendiary words like this from him, but I’m not,” Baker said. “At so many times during these past several weeks, when the country needed compassionate leadership the most, it was simply nowhere to be found. Instead, we got bitterness, combativeness, and self-interest. That’s not what we need in Boston, it’s not what we need right now in Massachusetts, and it’s definitely not what we need across this great country of ours either.”

Here’s the video:

One would hope that Baker is not the only active Republican politician who is disgusted by what Trump said. Hopefully, other Republicans will also speak out against it and condemn Trump for inciting violence and threatening military force. Unfortunately, that would require them to have a spine. And the truly sad part is that this nightmare could have been prevented had Senate Republicans done what needed to be done by voting to convict and remove Trump from office when they had the chance.
