Donald Trump has been desperate to cling to his relevancy in this country since pretty much the moment that he found out he wouldn’t be serving another term from the White House. Just recently, we reported that he wouldn’t be successful in his spotlight efforts when it came to the Palm Beach airport he was undoubtedly hoping to have named after him — after it was made crystal clear that “Trump International Airport” simply was not going to happen, no questions asked.

And now, according to a report, not only are no new names going up on any buildings in his honor anytime soon, some of the old ones are coming down too. Apparently, the Trump Plaza condominium complex in Palm Beach, Florida has voted to change its name, dropping the former President’s name, in the wake of his hand in the deadly, violent insurrection against our nation’s Capitol building in the final days of his presidency.

According to a report from the Palm Beach Post, the board of the complex held a vote recently, in which they unanimously decided to change the building’s name, giving residents the opportunity to vote for a new name.

Speaking with the local publication, some residents have said that Donald Trump’s part in the January 6th Capitol riot served as the straw that broke the camel’s back, spurring them to completely cut ties with the former President and remove any association between him and their complex.

One Trump Plaza owner told the newspaper, “It’s been a long time coming. Most of us are relieved that the name will finally be off the buildings.”

Just last year, residents of the complex voted unanimously to keep any and all signs bearing the then president’s name off their building, as they felt it made them a target for vandalism.

In the wake of Trump’s election win in 2016, many of his branded properties opted to make similar moves to avoid being targets for political mayhem.

New reports now indicate that the former president’s name has officially been removed from the condo complex, now bearing the name “The Plaza.”
