This should be interesting.

A resurfaced clip of the Colorado Right-wing Republican Congresswoman that everyone truly loves to hate is going viral across social media, as it shows the notorious gun-toting, Trump-loving, theater-groping Lauren Boebert praising now-former Democratic President Barack Obama.

In the clip, which is now spreading like wildfire across pretty much every social media platform, Boebert can be seen referring to then-President Obama as “my president,” and saying she “would never do anything to disrespect” him.

Over the few years in Congress, Boebert has gained infamy for quite a few fiascos — ranging from her notorious heckling of President Biden’s 2022 State of the Union address to her prayer at a 2023 church event, during which she asked God to make Biden’s “days be few,” to her personal scandals that include but aren’t limited to her nasty publicized divorce, her teen son’s out-of-wedlock child and subsequent crime spree, to groping a man in a public, family-friendly theater during a showing of Beetlejuice.

Suffice it to say, Lauren is certainly one of the most vocally fringe Right-wing members of Congress these days. However, as it turns out, she wasn’t always this way. In fact, about a decade ago, she had the utmost respect for the United States presidency, even when it was equipped with a Democratic leader, and we’ve got the receipts.

The newly viral clip hails from 2014, before Lauren entered politics, and shows the now-congresswoman during an interview with then-CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin, where Baldwin talks with Boebert about her now-shuttered Shooters Grill — a restaurant Lauren once co-owned and ran with her now ex-husband that attracted headlines at the time, due to the waitstaff being openly armed while serving customers.

During the 2014 interview, Baldwin asked Boebert about specific elements of the decor seen inside her Shooters Grill eatery, more specifically, a hung copy of the Declaration of Independence, a copy of the Bill of Rights, and a sign declaring that those inside were “proudly clinging to my guns and Bible.”

The pair discussed the sign for a moment before Baldwin asked if it was in direct response to comments that were made by Barack Obama on his campaign trail. The then-CNN host then aired a clip of then-presidential candidate Obama speaking from the 2008 campaign trail: “And it’s not surprising then they get bitter. They cling to guns or religion or antipathy, to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Cutting back to her interview with Boebert, Baldwin said that Obama was “caught off-mic talking about people in rural areas clinging to their guns and religion. I have to ask is the sign in your restaurant a direct jab at Obama?”

Lauren couldn’t have tucked her tail faster if she tried.

“No,” Boebert responded. “I would never do anything to disrespect my president. I believe it is an office that is in place by God and I would never say anything to disrespect him. I didn’t know that that comment was even made. I actually just picked up the sign at a local store.”

“No, I stand corrected,” the then-Shooter’s Grill owner added as she appeared to glance back at the sign in question. “A friend of mine bought that for me, and I thought it was fitting.”

While the clip is every bit of a decade old, it went viral this week thanks to a post from the popular Patriot Takes account on X (formerly known as Twitter.) At present time, the clip has garnered more than 370,000 views and counting.
