Donald Trump praised Sean "Diddy" Combs in a 2015 tweet.

It’s been a continuing throughline throughout the Trump years: Elaborate conspiracy theories have been conjured, seeking to tie the leadership of the Democratic Party, as well as Hollywood, to Jeffrey Epstein, pedophilia, and sex crimes. At the same time, it’s necessary to downplay Donald Trump’s own Epstein ties, as well as various others in the Trump orbit, like the Mueller Report figure George Nader. Trump also, somewhat inexplicably, once gave well wishes to Ghislaine Maxwell, the Epstein coconspirator who had been indicted.

This week, rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been arrested and charged in a sweeping federal indictment, which includes charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. So naturally, Trump’s ties to Combs have come under scrutiny.

In October 2015, early in his first presidential run, Trump tweeted an article from The Hill, stating that “P. Diddy is a fan of Donald Trump.”

In the linked article in The Hill, Diddy was described as part of Trump’s “list of friends who are famous rappers” and quoted Combs as stating,  “Donald Trump is a friend of mine, and he works very hard.”

The same article referenced Trump’s friendship with Kanye West.

“He always says great things about me, so I love Kanye,” the article quoted Trump as saying.

Trump and Combs have also been photographed together, although there is no evidence that Trump has been implicated in any way in Combs’ alleged crimes. Per The Wall Street Journal, Trump was known to show up at Diddy’s star-studded White Parties, each year on Labor Day.

Also, Trump and Diddy — and Taylor Swift — once appeared together in a Macy’s commercial

By 2020, however, Combs had broken with Trump, endorsed Joe Biden, and announced plans to form his own political party, which don’t appear to have ever gone anywhere.

“White men like Trump need to be banished,” he told Charlamagne Tha God in an interview. “That way of thinking is real dangerous. This man literally threatened the lives of us and our families about going to vote.” This was a reference to Trump telling the Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by” during a 2020 presidential debate.

Lots of people on X made light of the Combs/Trump connection:

As for Kamala Harris, there doesn’t appear to be any evidence that she has ties to Sean Combs.

But on Tuesday, one MAGA influencer posted a photo, from 2001, of Vice President Kamala Harris with Montel Williams, the talk show host who she formerly dated. But the influencer misidentified Williams as Combs, leading to a rebuke from Williams.
