Donald Trump has been suing his various enemies, whether media members, media companies, universities, law firms, or pollsters, since the start of his second presidency. Now, the Trump Administration has announced that it is once again suing Harvard University.

According to CNN, “The Department of Justice claims Harvard has refused to provide documentation the government has requested in an investigation into whether the university discriminated against students in its admissions decisions, violating the terms of its government grants.”

“Harvard has failed to disclose the data we need to ensure that its admissions are free of discrimination — we will continue fighting to put merit over DEI across America,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement, per CNN.

“The Justice Department will not allow universities to flout our nation’s federal civil rights laws by refusing to provide the information required for our review,” Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for civil rights, said in a statement to Politico. “If Harvard has stopped discriminating, it should happily share the data necessary to prove it.”

Harvard, meanwhile, said in a statement that the university “has been responding to the government’s inquiries in good faith and continues to be willing to engage with the government according to the process required by law… the University will continue to defend itself against these retaliatory actions which have been initiated simply because Harvard refused to surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights in response to unlawful government overreach.”

Earlier this month, Politico reported that Trump had announced he was seeking $1 billion from the university, over its “alleged failure to address campus antisemitism.”

“We are now seeking One Billion Dollars in damages, and want nothing further to do, into the future, with Harvard University,” Trump posted to Truth Social in early February.
