Vice President JD Vance appeared on Thursday with Erika Kirk, the widow of his late friend Charlie Kirk, at a Turning Point USA event.

At the event, at the University of Mississippi, the two called for a “conservative Christian revival.”

“Your generation is living at a crossroads, and we are witnessing in real time the battle raging for the soul of your generation,”  Erika Kirk said at the event.

Vance, for his part, struck a pro-natalist tone at the event.

“While you’re young, have those babies if you’re able to,” the vice president said.

The event drew attention for Vance’s comments, in which he answered a question by stating that he hopes his wife, who was raised Hindu, will one day convert to Christianity. But it also got people talking about something else: The embrace between the vice president and Mrs. Kirk.

“A viral moment from a recent public event has social media buzzing after Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, shared a warm on-stage bear hug with US Vice President JD Vance at the Turning Point USA event in Mississippi. The embrace quickly went viral, sparking some sharp reactions online,” the Economic Times said.

The reactions were sharp and included plenty of couch jokes:
