A video has gone viral showing a dark bag being thrown from an upper-floor White House window on Labor Day. The clip captures someone tossing the object from a top window down to the ground.

The video did not give details about the exact time it was recorded.

The White House confirmed to the Daily Mail that the video is recent. An official said the object was thrown by “a contractor who was doing regular maintenance while the president was gone.” President Trump spent most of the Labor Day weekend at his golf course in Sterling, Virginia.

Even with that explanation, the video drew strong attention online. According to Newsweek, it was first posted on Instagram by an account called Washingtonian Problems. The account said the footage was sent to them anonymously.

Some people online suggested First Lady Melania Trump might have been involved.

Melania, however, was reportedly not at the White House over the weekend. She spent most of her time in New York with her son Barron, who is at New York University.

The video also raised questions about security. Some people noted that upper-floor windows at the White House were sealed after the September 11, 2001 attacks. X user Adam Cochran wrote: “People don’t realize that this is weird because after 9/11 the windows were all replaced with sealed bulletproof windows, including in the residence.” He added that removing an object from these windows would be difficult and that contractors are not allowed inside while the president is in the building.

The unusual video comes amid ongoing public interest in the president’s health and safety. Many Americans have closely watched Trump’s absence from the White House over the Labor Day weekend.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has addressed questions about Trump’s health in recent weeks. She said the president has chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition in people over 70. She added there is “no evidence” of serious blood problems and that he “remains in excellent health.” Leavitt said the bruises on his hands are “consistent with irritation from his frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.”
