President Donald Trump appears to have found a new Democratic enemy: Maryland Gov. Wes Moore.
In recent weeks, Trump has claimed that Moore, when he met Trump at the Army-Navy Game, described Trump as “the greatest president of my lifetime.'”
Moore has denied that he ever said this.
Keep telling yourself that, Mr. President.

“I’m a person who takes my integrity very seriously and I spent the past six months before that election campaigning as to why I did not think that he should be the next president of the United States, so when I say that that conversation never happened — that imaginary conversation never happened — I mean, that conversation never happened,” the governor said in an interview with WBAL Radio.
At 2:12 a.m. on Thursday, Trump posted to Truth Social, calling Moore “disrespectful,” and bringing up a controversy from last year when it was questioned whether Moore really earned a Bronze Star.
As The Hill reported at the time, Moore was in the Army Reserves and deployed to Afghanistan. He had said in a 2006 job application that he won a Bronze Star, when at that point he had only been recommended for that honor.
“While serving overseas with the Army, I was encouraged to fill out an application for the White House Fellowship by my deputy brigade commander,” Moore said at the time. “In fact, he helped me edit it before I sent it in. At the time, he had recommended me for the Bronze Star. He told me to include the Bronze Star award on my application after confirming with two other senior-level officers that they had also signed off on the commendation.”
Moore’s mentor, Lt. Gen. Michael Fenzel, backed up that explanation. At any rate, this is an example of a politician, Trump, who never did any military service, denigrating the service of someone who did.
Also this week, Trump had ripped Moore in a different social media post, in which he appeared to threaten to remove previous approval to fix a “demolished bridge”:
Trump: “I gave Wes Moore a lot of money to fix his demolished bridge. I will now have to rethink that decision???”
You didn’t give him anything. That’s taxpayer money, not yours. pic.twitter.com/YzHmXnKkgM
