According to court transcripts obtained by PEOPLE, Barron said, “It’s really an emergency, please.” The woman’s name has not been released, but the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed the caller was Donald Trump’s son.

The case was heard at Snaresbrook Crown Court on January 21 and 22. Allegedly, the woman was attacked by her ex-boyfriend, Matvei Rumiantsev, a 22-year-old Russian citizen. He reportedly grabbed her hair and pushed her to the floor while shouting, “You are not worth anything.” Rumiantsev has denied assault and actual bodily harm, along with charges of rape, intentional strangulation, and perverting the course of justice.

Barron reportedly met the woman on social media and called police about 8 minutes after the alleged attack. He didn’t know the alleged attacker’s name and apologized to the operator for being rude when he initially hesitated to comment.

Bodycam footage from police responding shows the woman identifying Barron as her friend. One officer even remarked, “So apparently this informant from America is likely to be Donald Trump’s son.”

During cross-examination, the woman told attorney Sasha Wass, “He helped save my life. That call was like a sign from God at that moment,” according to The Times. She also denied any fabrication, saying, “I didn’t invent that. That would be completely evil and disgraceful toward people who have been in that situation.”

Online, people had different reactions. Some cheered Barron for acting fast. Others said the story might be fake or exaggerated.

The alleged attack reportedly stemmed from jealousy. Rumiantsev was angry over attempts to contact the woman earlier in the evening and allegedly lashed out physically. The woman had reportedly been in a relationship with him for six months.
