On Thursday night, former Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller made a startling claim, saying that when Joe Biden was sworn in as president on January 20th, the newly minted president was handed a better deal, better than any other president in history. It’s as if 2020 never happened, and Biden didn’t inherit a mishandled pandemic and an apocalyptic economy. Oh, and unemployment was through the roof.
“No president in history has been dealt a better hand on day one than President Biden. Think about what President Trump left him and what it’s become,” Dime Store Goebbels said with a straight face on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show. “He left him a Middle East that was at the dawn of a new peace, the most secure border in American history, energy abundance – and we had more energy than we knew what to do with. We had an economy that was primed to roar. We had a viable path towards a peace in Afghanistan. All of this and more was left at the doorstep for Joe Biden.”

Nearly half a million Americans died from COVID-19 when President Joe Biden was inaugurated. On the day that Biden took office, more than 4,000 Americans died of Covid-19. The unemployment rate also stood at 6.3 percent as the country was reeling from the coronavirus pandemic. In June, the unemployment rate fell to 5.9%. And, of course, Trump incited the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection that shook this nation to its core. Trump still hasn’t conceded the race he lost to Biden in the electoral and popular vote over eight months ago. 158 million Americans are fully vaccinated, and 332 million doses have been given. Trump had no plan for distributing the vaccine. Instead, the former president danced to YMCA while hosting super-spreader events — while Americans were dying. 2020 is a year that won’t be forgotten. Trump surrendered to the coronavirus without even putting up a fight.
