Former Trump adviser and staunch MAGA ally Steve Bannon has officially been found guilty by a jury on two counts of contempt of Congress in a misdemeanor charge, following less than 3 hours of deliberation on the matter, and he’s big mad about it; launching a nasty attack against the “gutless” members of the “show trial” January 6th House Select Committee.
Following the brutal verdict, Bannon stood up and thanked the judge and jury for their time on the trial, but couldn’t leave well enough alone at that. The Trump loyalist just had to add that he has only one disappointment following his trial loss and guilty verdict: “The gutless members of that show trial J6 committee didn’t have the guts to come down here and testify in open court.”
Bannon went on to add that he may have “lost the battle” but he has not “lost the war.”

“I stand with Trump and the Constitution,” the former Trump advisor declared.
Following the bombshell verdict, Steve Bannon now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 days with the possibility of up to 2 years behind bars in addition to a fine of up to $1,000. As it stands, Bannon’s sentencing is slated for October 21st.
In the aftermath of the verdict, House Select Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson and Vice Chair Liz Cheney released a statement:
The conviction of Steve Bannon is a victory for the rule of law and an important affirmation of the Select Committee’s work. As the prosecutor stated, Steve Bannon ‘chose allegiance to Donald Trump over compliance with the law.’ Just as there must be accountability for all those responsible for the events of January 6th, anyone who obstructs our investigation into these matters should face consequences. No one is above the law.”
Steve Bannon’s trial lasted only one week and featured two witnesses.
