As protests erupted across the U.S. on Saturday, President Donald Trump’s team seemed to have a different idea of how to respond.
The official Trump War Room account on X posted two memes just hours apart. The first showed Trump wearing a gold crown against a dark red background, like a royal portrait.

The second was even stranger, his crowned face rising like the sun over a field of flowers, each flower showing a person mid-scream.

The post came as “No Kings” protesters across more than 2,500 cities rallied against Trump’s leadership and his growing use of presidential power. Many carried signs that read “No Kings, No Dictators” and “We the People Still Rule.”
The second meme was a throwback to a viral 2017 clip of protester Jessica Starr screaming “This is not America!” during Trump’s first inauguration. That clip quickly became a favorite among Trump supporters, and now his campaign seems eager to revive it.
Both memes garnered tens of thousands of views in minutes, triggering a flood of replies.
Really leaning in on authoritarianism I see.
You’ll see the response today. All day. Across 4 time zones.

Can you imagine MAGA trying to pull off no kings day?
Couldn’t happen.
This is happening across the world.
Never in history have so many gathered behind one cause.

Posting crown pics while streets fill with No Kings protesters? Tone deaf arrogance from a White House blind to its own overreach. Founders dumped monarchs for a reason; this flirtation with absolutism erodes markets and alliances alike. Ask Nixon how symbols snowball into… pic.twitter.com/zKSYLUAuex

It’s not a joke.
We don’t want Trump running the country into the ground.#NoKings— Angel Goulet 😇 (@AngelGoulet) October 18, 2025
You #MAGAmorons really are fucked in the head. Our country started to escape a king, and we fought WWII against fascism, but you’re all for both of those because the #PedophileInChief tells you they’re good. He hasn’t done shit for you except approve of your bigotry.

And this is why I was one of millions who took to the streets for No Kings Day.

The “No Kings” movement is the third major protest since Trump’s return to the White House. Earlier rallies focused on free speech and immigration raids, but Saturday’s message was more direct: the country doesn’t answer to one man.
