This Is What Barron Trump’s New NYU Classmates Really Think Of Him

These are quite the responses.

Starting out life at New York University must be quite an adventure for Barron Trump, 18. Young Barron has been sequestered most of his life by his mom, Melania Trump, and dad Donald Trump has been largely in absentia during the young man’s childhood.

Barron began his journey at the Stern School of Business this week, said dear old Dad, Donald Trump. And his NYU classmates are opening up about what they think of the freshman, and their responses are rather mixed, MailOnline reports.

Some appear to be giving the younger Trump the benefit of the doubt, but others were less certain. One student said that if Barron wants to find a girlfriend, he’ll have to embrace a left-wing outlook since NYU is famously progressive.

”He’s going to NYU so if he is at all interested in girls, he’s going to become kind of liberal I’ll tell you that,” one student told DailyMail.com. But this may not be completely the case because one classmate admits “My mom is going to want me to marry him.”

More than a few said they planned to judge Barron based on his own merit, rather than on any preconceptions.

“I feel really bad for him, he did not choose this life,’ one student said,  explaining that she felt “excited and intrigued” by the prospect of Secret Service personnel being on campus. Well, perhaps with the recent school shooting in Georgia, this person was hoping this would keep the campus safer. That’s the only benefit I can see to having the agency there.

Others have decided being judgmental isn’t the way to go.

“His dad is his dad and he is his own person so I’m not going to judge,’ another agreed, adding that she would definitely consider a friendship.”

“Of course, who wouldn’t want to be friends with a Trump?’ she said. I can think of lots of folks who’d prefer not to be friends. Scores of celebrities have made their feelings known about the Trump family. Actor George Clooney and Amal Clooney are definitely not Trump supporters. Neither is Meryl Streep. Believe me, there are scores of people who are sick of the Trump family and wouldn’t mind if they all disappeared from sight.

As far as I’m concerned, they can all just mosey off into the sunset. Including Barron. That would be entirely fine with me. But one person said they would like to strike up a friendship with Barron, if for no other reason than to produce a “diss track against Kamala” obviously referring to the Vice President.

Other students appeared to have chillier attitudes, with one student saying she would “absolutely not” befriend Barron.

“It speaks to the privilege that a lot of the NYU kids have. I’m only here because of financial aid,”

His college choice had been kept secret until it was finally confirmed to DailyMail.com by dear old Dad, Donald Trump, who also said his son could have his pick of universities.

“He was accepted to a lot of colleges,” said dear old Daddy-o.

“He’s a very smart guy, and he’ll be going to Stern, the business school, which is a great school at N.Y.U.”

MailOnline reports that Stern is one of the best business schools in the U.S. and has a highly selective with an undergraduate undergraduate program that’s highly selective. Only one in 20 applicants are accepted.

And the university has some notably famous alumni — including Alan Greenspan, former chair of the Federal Reserve, and Kenneth Langone, the founding financier of Home Depot.

The sad thing here is it doesn’t sound like this young man is studying anything truly worthwhile. It’s obvious he wants to continue the family tradition of earning huge paychecks. Hopefully, he’ll be more honest than his father and avoid the trappings of unvarnished greed that his family seems to love so much. But he’s been surrounded by so much of this all of his life that it seems unlikely he’ll avoid this trap.

We live in a world that’s suffering under the weight of multiple wars, climate change, rare and beautiful species disappearing at horrifying rates, and poor people constantly being ground under the heels of the wealthy. There are so many billionaires out there who could make a difference but they rarely do.

Perhaps this rich kid will make a difference, but I’m not holding my breath.
