Thousands of people filled the streets of Washington, DC on Saturday for the “Remove the Regime” rally. They showed up to demand that President Donald Trump be removed from office.

The organizers wrote on their website that they “will no longer tolerate inaction or delay from elected officials as Donald Trump commits actual treason.”

They also pointed to comments from Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth about a “war from within.” The group said it matches the rules for impeachment in the Constitution. They ended with a strong call for action: “We are demanding impeachment and removal, and we are demanding it NOW.”

The rally started at noon at the Lincoln Memorial. People showed up with signs and a lot of anger. They listened to speeches, comedy, and music. Dropkick Murphys played for the crowd, and singer Earth to Eve also performed. After that, everyone marched across the Washington Mall.

One volunteer, Victoria Bourret, explained the goal to MSNOW. She said, “It’s not just ‘let’s come together,’ it’s ‘lets come together and take actions from here.’” She said they work hard every day. “We have a clear end goal and we’re working every week, every day to get him out.”

Even though the big rally was in DC, smaller rallies happened in other places too. Groups in Charlotte, South Carolina, and Fairmont, West Virginia joined in.

Last month, a group called No Kings held a huge nationwide protest with about seven million people. Some of the same organizers are helping with Remove the Regime, which makes this new movement stronger.

The timing matters because Trump’s polling numbers are very bad right now. Many national polls show that more people disapprove of him than approve of him by 14 to 26 points. A lot of Americans say they feel stressed by rising prices. This is happening even though Trump keeps saying his trade war would lower costs.

CNN analyst Harry Enten put it simply on Friday. He said, “When your best poll has you at 14 points underwater, you know it’s truly bad.” His comment matched how many people at the rally felt.
