Yes, there’s a Trump angle to this weekend’s DUI arrest of golf legend Tiger Woods.

The 50-year-old Woods, after getting into a car accident in Jupiter, Florida, was arrested for driving under the influence. Police described the golf legend as  “lethargic,” adding that he showed “signs of impairment” and appeared to be on “some type of medication or drug.”

Now, reports say that even before that, Woods was barred from driving the president’s grandchildren. The New York Post cited a source stating that the Secret Service is not allowing Woods to drive the kids.

Woods is dating Vanessa Trump, the former wife of the president’s son Donald Trump, Jr., and the mother of Don’s five children. One of them is Kai Trump, who is herself a golfer and competed over the weekend in the Miami Open.

Even before the arrest, the Post said, the Secret Service was “certainly not letting Tiger Woods – even without the DUI,” drive the children, the Post’s source said. Woods had been arrested for DUI previously, in 2017.

“President Trump’s family is far from pleased that someone with Tiger Woods’ issues is driving around his grandchildren, a family insider told the Post in the aftermath of the golf legend’s DUI arrest in Jupiter Island, Florida,” the Post reported.

The president, meanwhile, described the golfer as a “friend,” and the two have been spotted golfing together.

“I feel so badly. He’s got some difficulty. There was an accident and that’s all I know. Very close friend of mine. He’s an amazing person, amazing man. But some difficulty,” Trump told reporters in Miami, per the Post.

Meanwhile, a viral tweet that spread over the weekend, which allegedly had Trump calling for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to pardon Woods, was not genuine, although quite a few people fell for it.
