Donald Trump has a long and not-so-auspicious history with the talk show The View. His bitter feud with Rosie O’Donnell extended before, during, and after her time as one of the hosts of that show, and Trump would appear on the show at various times, including during his quest to “prove” that Barack Obama’s birth certificate was fake.

Kamala Harris appeared on The View this week, while Donald Trump did not. Although he certainly watched the show for Harris’ appearance, and he had some pretty vicious things to say afterward. He was so angry, in fact, that he moved over from Truth Social to X for this particular rant.

Trump referred to his opponent as a “dummy” and ripped the hosts of The View as “dumb women.”

“The Lamestream Media doesn’t want to pick up the story, the dumb women on the show wish they never asked her the question that led to that Election Defying answer, but the Internet is going WILD,” the former president wrote.

Harris’ appearance on The View came as a part of a pre-election media blitz, which has also included appearances on the podcast Call Her Daddy, The Howard Stern Show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and 60 Minutes. On The View, she made headlines by announcing that she would put a Republican in her cabinet as president, although she had said she would do so before.

Harris was introducd, when she appeared on The View, as “the next president of the United States” by host Whoopi Goldberg:

It was a much more auspicious appearance than Harris’ visit to the same show in 2021 when, moments before Harris was to appear, it was announced that two hosts of the show, Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro, had tested positive for COVID-19, and the interview segment did not go forward. Harris’ office was “vexed” with the View staff after that incident, CNN reported at the time, although the sides have appeared to have patched things up in the years since.
