Trump Acts Like A Petulant Child, Endorsed Republican Dunleavy For Governor, But On The Condition That He Doesn’t Endorse Sen. Lisa Murkowski

Former President Donald Trump issued a statement tweeted out by his spokesperson Liz Harrington to endorse Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s (R) reelection bid. However, the twice-impeached one-term President’s endorsement comes with the childish condition that Dunleavy doesn’t back Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) in 2022. Trump has held a grudge against Murkowski over her vote earlier this year to convict the former President on an impeachment charge for inciting the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

“Mike Dunleavy has been a strong and consistent Conservative since his time in the Alaska State Senate,” Trump’s statement reads. “I was proud to endorse his first run for Governor, and I am proud to support his reelection, too. From his handling of the virus, support of the Constitution—including the Second and Tenth Amendments—taking advantage of all the opportunities Alaska has to offer, and his strong pushback against the Liberal Biden Administration’s attempt to hurt our great Country.”

“Alaska needs Mike Dunleavy as Governor now more than ever,” he continued. “He has my Complete and Total Endorsement but, this endorsement is subject to his non-endorsement of Senator Lisa Murkowski who has been very bad for Alaska, including losing ANWAR, perhaps the most important drilling site in the world, and much else.”

“In other words, if Mike endorses her, which is his prerogative, my endorsement of him is null and void, and of no further force or effect!” Trump added.

Murkowski is the only one of the seven Republican senators who voted to convict the former President who is facing reelection in 2022. Trump’s sway in Republican politics seems to be dwindling to a degree, so I’m not sure whether an endorsement from the former President is a good thing or not for a candidate.

It’s certainly odd that the Republican party allows the former reality TV show star to hold such a tight grip on the GOP.  Where is the upside to that?

Was the crisis in Afghanistan surrounding the pull out of American Troops Biden's fault or Trump's fault?
