Trump Ally Laura Loomer Mercilessly Ridiculed Over Her Response To National Guard Tragedy

Misguided post, bad timing

On Wednesday, two National Guard soldiers were shot near the White House, leaving the area on lockdown. Hours later, Laura Loomer, a longtime ally of Donald Trump and former GOP candidate, posted a striking message on social media.

She wrote, “That’s it. I want a King.”

Loomer has built a reputation for bold and provocative posts. She has often called out Trump administration officials she saw as disloyal to the MAGA movement, and reports suggest the president has sometimes acted on her advice.

Her latest comment, however, landed at a tricky moment. While a few supporters framed it as a critique of government leadership, the timing felt off. The nation was still focused on the shooting, and calling for an American monarchy came across as, well, a little surreal.

Jonah Goldberg of The Dispatch described it as “literally anti-American.”

Joshua Claybourn from the CATO Institute said, “The post-liberal moment has definitely arrived. Both parties are heading in a new direction.”

Below are more reactions to Loomer’s post, with many people labeling her a traitor and others suggesting she should go live in a country that already has a king.

The shooting itself had already put the city on high alert. President Trump reacted quickly, calling the suspect “an animal” and praising the National Guard and law enforcement for their swift actions.

Loomer has not issued any follow-up clarification or apology. The post remains online, generating debate across social platforms.
