If there’s anything we’ve learned over the past four years, it’s that Donald Trump is pretty damn dumb. I mean, seriously, the guy is not hard to fool at all. Especially when it comes to his Twitter account, which I’m convinced he just blindly jabs at with his fat thumbs all day long with a complete disregard for what he’s hitting.
On more occasions than I can count, the guy has retweeted some random post that’s singing his praises, only for us to soon find out that either the tweet didn’t mean what he thought it meant, or the account was fake or a parody. Frankly, it’s just not an uncommon event when it comes to Donald Trump. But this particular instance in question today is made a little bit more hilarious, being that the parody account that he retweeted was posing as his sister — who is rather aggravated with the whole ordeal.
The outgoing president retweeted an article from the ultra-right-wing waynedupree.com website, according to VICE News. Contained in the article was praise for Donald’s older sister Elizabeth Trump Grau for “breaking years of carefully-guarded silence to step forward and vociferously defend Trump.”
However, the Twitter account that supposedly belonged to Trump’s sibling and sang all of Donald’s praises didn’t actually belong to the real Elizabeth Trump Grau at all. It was a parody account — and the real-life Trump Grau is evidently over it already.
Grau told VICE News when contacted for comments today, “I’m trying to delete it. I don’t even belong to Twitter.”

Trump’s real sister said she has nothing more to say on the matter, she is “just annoyed by this whole thing.”
VICE News reported that the account was established in November and sent out its first MAGA-loving tweet on Wednesday. In a very short amount of time, the account’s page was full of loving tweets of admiration for the outgoing president.
The following thread breaks the whole situation down a little more clearly:
I noticed something strange on Twitter this morning, so I started poking around. Here’s what I found.

So I clicked the link to the website run by conservative commentator Wayne Dupree to read the purported statement from Elizabeth. The article had this odd disclaimer at the top. pic.twitter.com/6W4X8Npk97

And then lower down, the article cites this tweet from an unverified account. pic.twitter.com/WHo5RYhTjv

Did the president’s 78-year-old sister join Twitter this month? pic.twitter.com/5VMvDoLTFl

The account tweets incessantly about cable news and disloyal Republicans pic.twitter.com/7IlcV4TJLT

Here’s the answer — it’s not really the president’s sister pic.twitter.com/ZaJj8YeIna

So now we know that right-wing media circulated an unverified account purporting to be the president’s sister, and then the president himself shared the coverage rather than confirm that it was, in fact, his sister behind the tweets.

Look, Donald. You’ve already embarrassed yourself enough as it is. Maybe take just half a second to check what you’re retweeting, huh?
