Trump Declares China “Knew Not To Mess Around With Me,” Never Would Have Flown Spy Balloon Into US Airspace With Him In Office — But They Did… A Lot

This week, scandal-ridden former President Donald Trump sat for an exclusive, all-encompassing interview with Fox News host and close personal friend Sean Hannity, as the pressure of potential indictments, massive lawsuits, and ongoing criminal investigations continue to close in on the ex-president from every conceivable direction. Their one-on-one sit down covered everything from the classified document scandal to the widely expected Manhattan indictment to the ongoing Justice Department investigations to his social media platforms and presence and everything in between.

Among the topics discussed in the two-part exclusive interview with the disgraced former president was the now-infamous Chinese spy balloon scandal.

The whole nation found themselves rather distracted by and frankly obsessed with a spy balloon launched by China back in February of this year, as it visibly floated through the airspace over the continental US before being gunned down by US military officials just off the coast of the Carolinas.

During the Hannity interview, which took place at the ex-president’s Palm Beach Mar-a-Lago golf club and current personal residence, the Fox host went off on an unhinged tangent over a variety of what he feels are failures by the Biden Administration, which included the spy balloon ordeal.

“Then we watch the China spy balloon incident, you know, to go down over the skies of Alaska, down the west coast of Canada, Idaho, over our missile silos in Montana, Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, the Carolinas,” Hannity said to the former president. “Then, shoot it down. Then we see Russia take down one of our drones.”

He then went on to open the door for Donald Trump to outline how he would have better handled the whole spy device situation.

“What would you have done with the balloon?” Sean flat-out asked.

“I wouldn’t have done anything with the balloon because it wouldn’t have happened,” Trump was quick to shoot back. “Wouldn’t happen under me. They wouldn’t have sent the balloon.”

Donald’s narcissistic self-confidence is funny enough all on its own. But, what makes this whole grand declaration of his even more hilarious still is the fact that China did, in fact, send surveillance balloons through US airspace while Trump was in office — a lot, actually.

As a matter of fact, at least 3 surveillance balloons were deployed over US airspace by the Chinese government during Trump’s presidency, at least one of which flew right over the state of Florida where Donald’s beloved Mar-a-Lago estate is located — all of which went completely undetected by the United States government while Trump was in the highest level of office in the land.

The big guy took the whole “they won’t mess with me” trope a step further still when the pair turned their attention to Russia and Vladimir Putin’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

“You say it with such conviction,” Hannity said after the ex-president asserted that the Russian war against Ukraine never would have happened with him in office. “Why, if you were president, would they have not done this?”

“Because he knew not to mess around with me,” Trump shot back, prompting the Fox host to question, “They fear you?”

“I don’t want to say that,” Trump responded, appearing to backtrack a bit. “You know why? Because you’d say–I don’t like people who say, ‘Oh, they fear me,’ like a schmuck. I don’t wanna say it, but did they fear me? I suspect they did.”
