President Donald Trump has once again attacked a female journalist, this time targeting CNN host Kaitlan Collins.
The feud started after Collins reported on Trump’s White House ballroom project, saying the construction has become bigger and more expensive than originally planned.
Trump took to Truth Social to respond to Collins’ story, misspelling her name in the process. He called her “stupid and nasty” and criticized her network, CNN. “FAKE NEWS CNN, and the guy who runs the whole corrupt operation that owns it, is one of the worst in the business,” he wrote. He added that CNN’s ratings are so low that “they’re not even counted or relevant anymore. MAGA!!!”

Collins’ report said that Trump had disagreements with the original architect and hired a new one. The New York Times had reported that the ballroom’s cost increased from $200 million to $300 million. Collins also said the project has grown in size and complexity, which Trump strongly rejected in his post.
In his response, Trump claimed that the ballroom will now be “double the size” of the original plan. He said the quality of the interiors has been “brought to the highest level” and that the column span has been “substantially increased for purposes of viewing.”
Trump added that the project is “actually under budget and ahead of schedule, as my jobs always are,” and that it is “much bigger and more beautiful than originally planned.”
He also repeated that no taxpayer money is being used for the construction. According to Trump, the project is being “fully paid for by private donations,” which Collins had also mentioned in her report.
This is not the first time Trump has publicly attacked female journalists. In November, Bloomberg reporter Catherine Lucey asked about the Jeffrey Epstein files, and Trump told her, “Quiet, piggy.” Then, when The New York Times’ Katie Rogers asked a question, Trump called her “a third-rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out.”
A day later, CBS News correspondent Nancy Cordes asked about a National Guard shooting near the White House, and Trump responded, “Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person?”
Trump’s attacks on female reporters have drawn widespread criticism. Many see his comments as disrespectful and unnecessary. Collins, for her part, has not publicly responded to Trump’s post, and CNN representatives declined to comment.
The White House ballroom project itself continues to raise questions. While Trump says it is fully funded by private donations, the increasing costs and expanded plans have drawn media attention. Collins’ reporting highlights these concerns, showing that the project has changed significantly since it was first announced.
