Donald Trump addressing an event for Women’s History Month sounds in every way like a bad idea. And he did just that on Wednesday, making some bizarre comments along the way.

According to The Daily Beast, the president “joked and flirted his way” through the Wednesday afternoon event at the White House.

“I kept being told that women didn’t like me, but I thought, ‘I think they do,” Trump said at the event, at which Trump entered to the sounds of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen and Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

Trump even, at one point, described women as “superior.” However, it was in the context of raising the anti-transgender executive order he issued on the first day of his presidency.

“It’s demeaning to women and, frankly, in my opinion, you are superior to men,” Trump said. “Women are superior… I’ve known it all my life, and I’m not happy about it. I’m not happy about it.”

The president also touted a recent order to make IVF easier, dubbing himself “the fertilization president” as part of “tremendous goodies in the bag for women.”

Trump also announced that he’s planning a women’s museum on the National Mall and that  “I’m very good at real estate… It’s going to be a big, beautiful museum. If it’s for women, it’s got to be a big, beautiful museum, or we’re in trouble.”

The president said he had done a “similar event for men” but that it was “boring.”

There were some very surprised reactions, especially to the “fertilization president” comment:

Lots of other people joked that Elon Musk, not Trump, should be considered the “fertilization president,” considering his proclivity for frequently fathering children.

“The First Lady and I honor American women from all generations and all backgrounds who have been integral to our prosperity and productivity and who have made an indelible mark on the soul and heartbeat of our Nation,” Trump said in his proclamation for Women’s History Month.
