Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis is undeniably circling the waters around not only disgraced former President Donald Trump, but dozens of his co-conspirators and co-defendants as well, and it seems that the pressure of potential criminal charges is beginning to get to them, as one of the ex-president’s co-defendants is now seeking to disqualify the DA from the sprawling election crimes case with allegations that Willis engaged in a romantic relationship with one of the top prosecutors she brought in to work on the case against Donald Trump and his fellow conspirators. According to the new half-baked allegations, this office romance resulted in financial gain for both Willis and the prosecutor, making the DA unfit to prosecute the case.

The allegations hail from current Trump co-defendant and former Trump campaign staff member Michael Roman, who submitted a court filing yesterday that accuses DA Willis of having potentially committed “an act to defraud the public of honest services” based on her “intentional failure” to disclose the alleged romantic relationship with a top prosecutor on the election crimes case that Roman claims she “personally benefitted from.”

The 127-page filing submitted by Roman’s attorney, Ashleigh Merchant, said, “Accordingly, the district attorney and the special prosecutor have violated laws regulating the use of public monies, suffer from irreparable conflicts of interest, and have violated their oaths of office under the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct and should be disqualified from prosecuting this matter.”

When reached for comments on the new allegations, a spokesperson for DA Willis’ office told ABC News that the District Attorney’s office would “respond through appropriate court filings.”

The scandal-plagued former president wasted no time in jumping on the new allegations related to his election crimes case, taking to Truth Social and writing, “ALL CHARGES AGAINST ME, AND OTHERS, SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY DROPPED, WITH APOLOGIES, AND MONETARY DAMAGES FOR THE ILLEGAL AND HIGHLY POLITICAL PERSECUTION OF INNOCENT PEOPLE.”
