Donald Trump just found a new favorite ad. And a new reason to attack Taylor Swift.
On Monday, Trump posted on Truth Social to praise Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle jeans campaign. He called it the “hottest ad out there.” He also reminded everyone that Sweeney is a registered Republican.
“Sidney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the HOTTEST ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying of the shelves.’ Go get ‘em Sidney,” he wrote. He misspelled her name twice.

Records from the Florida Department of State show that Sweeney registered as a Republican on June 14, 2024. She owns a home in the Florida Keys.
The ad campaign has faced backlash from liberal activists. The tagline says, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.” But online, the trouble started when a teaser video played on the word “genes.”

In the video, Sweeney says, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My jeans are blue.”

The video appeared on social media but was not part of the official campaign.
Still, some critics said the message crossed a line. They saw it as a nod to eugenics — a theory that pushed selective breeding to improve human traits. That theory has been rejected by the scientific community. But the backlash kept growing.
Trump didn’t mention any of that. He just said the ad was a win.
Then he turned to Jaguar. He said their recent ad was a disaster.
“On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE, advertisement, THAT IS A DISASTER. The CEO just resigned, the company is in turmoil,” Trump wrote.
He said Jaguar should have learned from Bud Light.
“Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short but very Woke campaign, the Company. The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, BILLIONS OF DOLLARS LOST.”
Then he brought up Taylor Swift.
“Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her,” he wrote.
In May, Trump also wrote that Swift was “no longer hot.”
This post put it all together — his support for a young Republican actress, his hate for brands he calls “woke,” and another shot at Taylor Swift.
Sweeney has not said much about her politics. But Trump sees her as one of his own.
