Trump Goes On Unhinged Attack Against Robert De Niro After Actor Spoke Out Against Him

Not exactly statesmanlike

Donald Trump didn’t wait long after his State of the Union to fire back at his critics.

Within hours, he was on Truth Social, attacking political opponents and even floating deportation talk. Among those he targeted were Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, along with Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro.

De Niro had spoken out earlier in the day.

The longtime Trump critic appeared on MS NOW and issued a blunt warning about the president’s future in office. “He will never leave. We have to make him leave,” said the actor. “He jokes now about nationalizing the elections. He’s not joking. We’ve seen enough already.”

The remarks came ahead of Trump’s address. De Niro also attended an event called State of the Swamp at the National Press Club, where he criticized the direction of the country. “Tragically, we are now in a country of, by and for a handful of dishonest and greedy and cruel authoritarians,” he told the crowd.

He went further.

“The bottom line is that I feel betrayed by my country. It doesn’t have to be perfect but it does need to return to the values that gave us our strength and humanity.”

Trump was not amused.

In a lengthy post, he lashed out at Omar and Tlaib for heckling during his speech and then turned his attention to De Niro. He wrote that they “should actually get on a boat with Trump Deranged Robert De Niro, another sick and demented person with, I believe, an extremely Low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying – some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!”

He did not stop there.

“When I watched him break down in tears last night, much like a child would do, I realized that he may be even sicker than Crazy Rosie O’Donnell, who is right now in Ireland trying to figure out how to come back into our beautiful United States. The only difference between De Niro and Rosie is that she is probably somewhat smarter than him, which isn’t saying much.”

Trump has previously threatened to revoke Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship, despite a Supreme Court ruling that prevents the government from stripping citizenship in that way. O’Donnell later moved to Ireland after his re-election.

The latest clash comes as polling shows growing public concern over political leadership. A Reuters/Ipsos survey found that 6 in 10 Americans believe Trump has become erratic as he ages. In that same poll, 61% described him as having “become erratic with age.”

Another finding showed 79% of Americans believe elected officials in Washington are too old to represent most voters. The average age is 64 in the Senate and 58 in the House.

A separate Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos poll found that 39% of Americans approve of the way Trump is handling the presidency.
