With evidence emerging that the military engagement in Iran has a chance to drag on, perhaps longer than planned, President Trump has retreated to his favorite place, Truth Social, to try to make the case that all is well.
Per The Daily Beast, Trump, in his “posting spree” that extended from Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning, “played a game of hypotheticals and then thanked himself in the third person as part of an attempt to deflect blame for his strikes on Iran.”
“If I didn’t terminate Obama’s horrendous Iran Nuclear Deal (JCPOA), Iran would have had a Nuclear Weapon three years ago,” Trump said in one post, even though the JCPOA was agreed to put safeguards in place to prevent Iran from getting such a weapon. Also, Trump thanked himself, declaring, “THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP.”

In a later post, Trump went after “the Radical Left Democrats.” The party, he added, “has completely lost its way, are complaining bitterly about the very necessary and important attack, by the United States and Israel, on Iran. What most people understand is that they are only complaining BECAUSE I DID IT and, if I didn’t do it, they would be screaming — Why didn’t “TRUMP” attack Iran, he should do it, IMMEDIATELY? There’s nothing surprising about this!”
He also pushed back on reports that the munition stockpiles are running low.
Another post blamed former President Biden and Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy for what he said is the non-problem of depleted munitions stockpiles.
“The United States Munitions Stockpiles have, at the medium and upper medium grade, never been higher or better – As was stated to me today, we have a virtually unlimited supply of these weapons. Wars can be fought “forever,” and very successfully, using just these supplies (which are better than other countries finest arms!),” Trump said. “At the highest end, we have a good supply, but are not where we want to be. Much additional high grade weaponry is stored for us in outlying countries. Sleepy Joe Biden spent all of his time, and our Country’s money, GIVING everything to P.T. Barnum (Zelenskyy!) of Ukraine – Hundreds of Billions of Dollars worth – And, while he gave so much of the super high end away (FREE!), he didn’t bother to replace it. Fortunately, I rebuilt the military in my first term, and continue to do so.”
