Trump Humiliated As Protestors’ Loud Chants Can Be Heard At The White House As President Xi Arrives For State Dinner

Not everyone outside the White House gates on Thursday came dressed for a party.

According to CBS News, a group of demonstrators gathered near the White House’s North Portico ahead of the dinner, with a woman leading the crowd through a megaphone. Their chants covered several different grievances at once: “Xi Jinping, You’re Not Welcome,” “Free Hong Kong,” “Keep Taiwan Free,” and “China Sponsors Genocide.”

A separate clip shared online by the account Donk Media caught the chants bleeding into footage of the arrival itself, with the poster writing, “Trump is humiliated as protestors can be clearly heard at the White House as President XI arrive at his state dinner,” and adding a personal read on Trump’s expression: “Look at his face, he is boiling mad.”

Reaction under the post skewed skeptical of Trump, regardless of how his expression was read.

Trump’s own remarks from earlier that day struck a very different tone.

Speaking from a podium in the White House’s Grand Foyer, he told Xi, “From the time of my first election in 2016, President Xi and I have forged a friendship, a truly great friendship, actually, built on mutual respect and the vital interests of our people.”

Xi used part of his own remarks to announce a diplomatic gesture of his own, telling the room, “In a few days, two pandas, Ping-Ping and Fu Shuang, will come to their new home in Zoo Atlanta, and meet with the American people.”

Wednesday’s arrival at Joint Base Andrews had already set the tone for a heavily choreographed visit, complete with a red carpet, a flyover from two B-1 bombers, a 21-gun salute, and a military band playing the national anthem. As reporters pressed Xi on Taiwan, Iran, and Jimmy Lai, Trump remained silent.

The state dinner’s guest list read like a who’s who of Silicon Valley.

Jeff Bezos arrived with his wife, Lauren Sanchez, followed by Michael Dell and his wife, Susan. Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser were also on the list, according to ABC News, reflecting how heavily AI cooperation has shaped talks between the two countries this year.
