Trump Imagines Himself As Decorated War Hero Alongside Patton And MacArthur In Bizarre AI Image

The cringe never stops

On Tuesday, Trump gave himself a new military promotion, at least in AI form. His latest Truth Social post showed him in a heavily decorated uniform standing beside two of America’s best-known generals, George Patton and Douglas MacArthur. In this version of history, Trump somehow outranked both of them.

The image placed Trump in front of a battlefield wearing rows of ribbons and what resembled the Medal of Honor. Patton and MacArthur stood on either side of him, each wearing only two stars.

That ranking falls apart almost immediately.

Patton held four stars during his military career. MacArthur was one of only nine Americans ever promoted to five-star rank.

The AI also stumbled on other details. MacArthur’s sleeve carried inverted corporal stripes, while Patton’s shoulder boards looked distinctly Soviet, according to one close examination of the image.

The internet had plenty to say about it.

The image also clashed with Trump’s actual record.

He attended the New York Military Academy as a teenager and eventually became a cadet captain there. During the Vietnam War, however, he received five deferments, four for education and one medical. He has never served in the armed forces and has never held military rank.

This also wasn’t the first AI makeover of the week.

Only days earlier, Trump shared another AI image portraying himself as a Revolutionary War commander. He’s also publicly floated the idea of awarding himself the Medal of Honor.

The military theme continued through the rest of his Truth Social posts.

Trump wished the Coast Guard a happy birthday, crediting Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin for “rebuilding the Coast Guard like never before” while noting the first of eleven new Arctic Security Cutters will arrive in 2028.

He also shared construction photos from the White House East Wing, describing a new “Military Complex” tied to his long planned ballroom project, which he said “sits directly under the elevated DronePort, and is paid for by Great American Patriots — No Taxpayer Money!”
