Former South Carolina governor and Republican Party sweetheart Nikki Haley officially announced the launch of her 2024 presidential campaign on the GOP ticket yesterday, in a massive event in her state of South Carolina.
Haley is the first Republican candidate to officially toss her hat in the ring against scandal-ridden former President Donald Trump and, suffice it to say, the big guy isn’t handling it well at all.
Following her announcement, Trump took to his struggling Truth Social platform with a post on Haley’s candidacy that was absolutely dripping with petty sarcasm and immaturity.
“She’s polling at 1%,” Trump mocked. “Not a bad start!!!”

The former guy was quick to tear in on Haley’s lack of loyalty and honor, attempting to remind the world that she once vowed to never run against him in a presidential election.
“Nikki Haley had a hard time making the decision to run for President because she very publicly stated that she ‘would never run against the President. He did a GREAT JOB, and was the best President in my lifetime,'” Trump wrote. But the former president appeared to attempt to cover his shame, embarrassment, and upset when he added, “I told Nikki to follow her heart, not her ambition or belief. Who knows, stranger things have happened.”
But rest assured that the backhanded sarcasm will be extremely short-lived and Trump will be back to his hate-fueled rage after reports broke this afternoon that one of Trump’s most devout MAGA allies has turned his back on the former president and just officially threw his public endorsement behind Haley in the 2024 presidential race.
The Daily Mail reports that South Carolina’s GOP Rep. Ralph Norman “came out in full force behind Nikki Haley on the day she announced her run for president, deeming her America’s Margaret Thatcher. ”
As he introduced former ambassador and governor Haley at her launch event last night, Norman held nothing back when he told the crowd, “‘Nikki will be a leader with an iron fist in a velvet glove. I believe Nikki Haley is America’s version of Margaret Thatcher.”
Haley was known as the “Iron Lady” during her time as the United Kingdom’s prime minister from 1979 to 1990.
“It’s time for a reset and a new chapter in national Republican politics, and there’s no better person to help write that new chapter than our former governor and my good friend, Nikki Haley!” the Republican rep. wrote in a tweet ahead of his appearance at Haley’s campaign launch.

I can only imagine that Donald Trump is coming to the painful realization that he’s not the king of the GOP that he once was. His own party is done with him.
