The New York Daily News broke reporting this morning on a court filing submitted late last night by Trump attorneys Joe Tacopina and Alina Habba, in which they made it crystal clear that the scandal-ridden former president is desperate to prevent a jury from hearing or seeing the infamous Access Hollywood tapes, or any information pertaining to the numerous other sex crime allegations that have been lodged against him over the years, in the upcoming NYC civil rape trial he is facing.
Tacopina and Habba submitted the filing to Manhattan Federal Court Judge Lewis Kaplan late last night and called on the judge to block Trump accuser E. Jean Carroll’s legal team from introducing the infamous tapes — that saw Donald J. Trump openly bragging about molesting, harassing, and sexually assaulting women because “when you’re a star, they let you do it” — into evidence for the jury to review in the trial that is set to unfold on April 25th.
The notorious Access Hollywood tapes hail back to 2005 when Trump can be heard telling former Today Show host Billy Bush, “And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the p—y. You can do anything.”
The deeply disturbing and frankly downright horrifying remarks were picked up on a hot mic as Trump and Bush were engaging in “locker room talk” about soap opera star Arianne Zucker just before they appeared in a scene with her. The now-infamous tapes would go on to be leaked to the public in October 2016 and served as the catalyst for the end of Bush’s television career, while Trump would go on to be elected the President of the United States just a month later.

World-renowned advice columnist, E. Jean Carroll, accuses Donald Trump of brutally raping her in the dressing room of a Manhattan department store in the mid-1990s. Her lawyers have now told Judge Kaplan that they wish to enter the infamous tapes, as well as other sex crimes allegations that have been lodged against the now-disgraced former president, into evidence that will be presented to the jury in the New York civil trial, as they hope to prove to jurors that Donald Trump is “predisposed” to committing sex crimes against women.
Donald Trump has not only vehemently denied that the assault ever happened, but further denied even knowing Carroll, and openly defamed her while still in office when he claimed that he couldn’t have possibly raped her, as she’s “not his type.” Funnily enough, during a recent deposition in the case, Trump would mistake a photo of Carroll for his second ex-wife, Marla Maples, indicating that Carroll was, in fact, his “type” after all.
Trump attorney Alina Habba is now attempting to argue that the “irrelevant and highly prejudicial” remarks heard spewing from Donald Trump’s mouth in the infamous Access Hollywood tapes “do not even tangentially relate” to Carroll’s rape allegations.
The Trump legal team is also seeking to bar Carroll’s attorneys from calling Natasha Stoynoff and Jessica Leeds as witnesses in the trial — both of whom have accused Donald Trump of sexual misconduct in the past.
Donald Trump denies the allegations lodged against him by both of those women as well.
Carroll currently maintains two lawsuits against the ex-president, who is running for office for his 3rd consecutive time in 2024, both of which accuse Trump of sexual battery and defamation and center around her allegations of rape hailing back to the 90s.
