The president was spotted wearing glasses.

Donald Trump, for the most part, has managed to avoid the questions about his age and potential mental or physical decline, as opposed to his predecessor, Joe Biden. But anyone who has watched an old interview from Trump, in his real estate days, clearly has lost a step and isn’t as alert or energetic as he once was.

Also, it appears, Trump now needs glasses.

A photo surfaced this week of Trump riding in the presidential limousine, wearing glasses.

“Trump, 79, who was the oldest president ever elected to a second term, has long been known to be very careful and savvy with his public image,” Newsweek reported about the glasses moment. “While it isn’t uncommon for somebody his age to require glasses, there are few publicly available photos of Trump wearing glasses during his presidency. Sunday’s images appear to mark the first such instance during his second term.”

Trump has not often been seen wearing glasses in public, especially not regularly. Occasionally, at rallies, when Trump recites the poem “The Snake” and uses it as an immigration parable, he will produce glasses as a visual effect.

Trump did, in a 2016 deposition, claim that he couldn’t read something because he didn’t have his glasses:

Quite a few people on social media noticed how incongruous it was to see Trump wearing glasses while riding in a car:
