President Donald Trump has periodically threatened to run for a third term in 2028 during his second term, even though the Constitution bars him from doing so. In addition to selling Trump 2028 merchandise and putting on such a hat at the recent White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, he’s often talked about running in 2028 on Truth Social, and he did again over the weekend.

According to Indy 100, the Truth Social post appeared on Saturday.

“In a black and white photo, the convicted felon is seen sporting a ‘Trump 2028’ cap, with text in the bottom left reading: ‘We are going to win,'” the post said.

The Constitution is absolutely unambiguous that Trump cannot be elected president again, and Trump seems to know this is the case. He has reportedly asked donors, often, who he would like to succeed him, between Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

“I’d love to run, but the law’s very strong. I get asked by everyone … everybody wants me to do it, but the law’s very strong,” Trump told reporters last week.

Social media users had some reactions to Trump’s posts.
