Trump Launches New Attack On Alex Pretti In Late-Night Social Media Tirade

The president trashed Alex Pretti, the man killed by ICE agents in Minnesota earlier this month.

Earlier this month, nurse Alex Pretti was killed by ICE agents in Minneapolis, in an incident that was caught on video and horrified the nation. More than a week later, a video emerged of a confrontation that had Pretti arguing with ICE agents, and at one point kicking their vehicle.

Pretti was not arrested in the earlier incident, and it can’t be argued that it makes his later shooting, which wasn’t even on the same day, justified. But late on Thursday night, days after the new video surfaced, President Donald Trump weighed in on Truth Social.

“Agitator and, perhaps, insurrectionist, Alex Pretti’s stock has gone way down with the just released video of him screaming and spitting in the face of a very calm and under control ICE Officer, and then crazily kicking in a new and very expensive government vehicle, so hard and violent, in fact, that the taillight broke off in pieces,” the Truth Social post says. “It was quite a display of abuse and anger, for all to see, crazed and out of control. The ICE Officer was calm and cool, not an easy thing to be under those circumstances! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported Friday that the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division has opened an investigation into the killing of Pretti, after not doing so previously.

“I don’t want to overstate what’s happening,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told the press Friday, during a news conference to announce the release of a new tranche of Jeffrey Epstein files. “I don’t want the takeaway to be that there’s some massive civil rights investigation that’s happening. This is what I would describe as a standard investigation by the FBI when there’s circumstances like what we saw last Saturday.”

Blanche did not say whether a similar probe has been opened into the killing of Renee Good, also in Minneapolis. The Pretti probe is separate from a previously announced investigation into Pretti’s death by the Department of Homeland Security. State investigations have also been launched into both killings.
